New Arrivals: Afshin Feiz and Aimee McWilliamsSaturday, 23 August 2008 Lola and I were lying low for a few weeks, but all of a sudden mohair sweaters and wool skirts seem like a good idea. Don't we love the British summer.... And so the new season is coming in, at least this week, in alphabetical order. We are very proud to introduce Afshin Feiz. As international as he is educated, Afshin has recently returned to his hometown of London, where he won the Visionary Award at On/Off. Having previously shown his own line in New York, Afshin is by no means a newcomer to the fashion world. His impressive CV includes stints at John Galliano, Christian Lacroix Couture and three years at Nina Ricci. His style reflects his experience: Up-town chic is achieved through the interplay of feminine silhouettes and masculine tailoring. His pieces have the quality and that certain je ne sais quoi you'd normally expect from an established Avenue Montaigne or Madison Avenue designer. nina&lola is pleased to offer this gorgeous collection exclusively in the UK and online.
Next up, the return of the amazing Miss Aimee McWilliams. Inspired by cult films from the late 60's with strange undertones of homosexuality, the young lady upped her standards in terms of luxurious fabrics and colours once again. Soft cashmere jackets play with nappa lambs leather sleeves for a strong layering effect. This idea continues into evening with a rather sexy deep V cocktail dress of impeccable finish. Smartly tailored velvet suit jackets lose their preppiness with asymmetric collars and leather trimmings. And the mohair knit pieces are gently fitted with extra long sleeves adding to your 'favourite jumper ever' section.
Righty. So much for this first newsletter of the new season. Enjoy! Nina |
